Dear Neighbor,
They say you can tell a lot about a man by the calluses on his hands and the stories he tells.
My name is Eric Hicks, and I’ve lived and worked alongside many of you for years. For 33 years, I worked the railroad as a Conductor. My life was measured in miles, schedules, and the responsibility of getting the crew and the cargo home safely. When I wasn't in the cab, I was serving as a Union Shop Steward, fighting to ensure my fellow workers were protected.
I retired and for the past 10 years, I have brought that same "Conductor’s" discipline to the world of Real Estate.
I’m writing to you today because I’m navigating a personal "steep grade"—I am currently going through my own difficult journey as a Cancer figther. I’m saying this, not because I want anyone’s sympathy, but because I understand that life will something give you something that you didn’t want or expect! This journey has given me a new perspective on what it means to be a Realtor. It has taught me that time is our most precious commodity and that having an advocate who truly understands the physical and emotional challenges of getting older is rare.
In my decade of service as a Realtor, I’ve seen every kind of market. But more importantly, I’ve learned that my neighbors deserve more than just a "salesperson." You deserve a Conductor who can manage the logistics of a move while you focus on your health and your family.
